Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Backend Developer (Python/FastAPI) to maintain, optimize, and scale our backend systems. The role involves building APIs, managing databases, integrating third-party services, and supporting production systems.

Job Description/ Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain backend services using Python and FastAPI
- Design, implement, and document RESTful APIs
- Manage and optimize PostgreSQL databases
- Implement background jobs and asynchronous processes
- Integrate external APIs (payment gateways, telco/aggregator services, SMS/USSD platforms)
- Monitor and debug production issues
- Collaborate with frontend, QA, and product teams
- Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code
- Participate in code reviews and deployment processes
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Backend Developer
- Strong proficiency in Python
- Hands-on experience with FastAPI
- Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL
- Experience building secure APIs (authentication, authorization)
- Good understanding of backend architecture and system design
- Experience using Git and collaborative development workflows
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Added Advantage (Nice to Have)
- Experience with Redis, Celery, or background job processing
- Docker and basic DevOps knowledge
- Experience with subscription-based or high-traffic platforms
- Experience integrating third-party APIs
- Familiarity with logging, monitoring, and error tracking tools
